How Tulsa Dentistry is Proudly Supporting Our Local Community

Apr 21, 2017 | Office News

One of our basic human needs is to experience a sense of belonging. Feeling connected and establishing relationships with our community is an important way to fill that need. Dentistry is not just about providing people with healthy and beautiful smiles (although we love doing that too!).

At Utica Dental, we are proud to be a part of an amazing community! Tulsa is more than just a home to us. We strive to strengthen it by supporting a variety of community events and local charities.

Our Tulsa dentistry that does not exclude any member of our community

In the past several months we have attended two very special events that we would like to share with you, our loyal patients and fellow community members.

Tulsa Cares Red Ribbon Gala

Red Ribbon Gala is the largest fundraiser annually for Tulsa CARES. Their mission is to deliver social services to people affected by HIV and AIDS.

It was shocking to us to hear that 1.2 million Americans, 6,000 Oklahomans and 1,800 Tulsans live with HIV/AIDS.

HIV affects every family in the Tulsa community somehow, even our own. Utica Dental proudly made a donation in honor of Dr. Hinkle’s first cousin, Flip Minney who died from HIV/AIDS complications several years before treatment became so successful.

In support of those in Tulsa with HIV, we were privileged to attend this annual event. We had a fabulous and fun time. Watch this short 1-minute video to experience the highlight of the night:

Night to Shine

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience for teens with special needs ages 14 and older. Multiple prom events were held worldwide on the same night by 375 churches in 11 countries, for 75,000 honored guests with the support of 150,000 volunteers!

The second annual Night to Shine prom, held at the Marriott Southern Hills Hotel in Tulsa, was attended by 600 people with special needs. The prom, organized by the Tim Tebow Foundation, was one of the largest of all 375 events.

As a volunteer buddy, Dr. Hinkle was privileged to accompany a special young lady for the dancing event. Dr. Hinkle wants Brittany to keep smiling all year, so he’s offered to gift her a smile makeover! (This photo may have been taken after she found out!) Watch for her amazing results coming soon.

Our Tulsa dentistry office was proud to participate in the Night to Shine event.

Dr. Hinkle and his dancing partner Brittany had a great time together at Night to Shine!

We are extremely proud to have participated in showing these precious members of our community how much we care!
